Alien Egg Animatronic and Hand Articulated Puppet
For my EPQ I conducted a study of the effectiveness of hand articulated versus animatronic puppets in horror/sci-fi films from between 1970-2000. To aid my research I made two identical puppets for two low-budget, horror-inspired, short films that I used as the basis for a survey asking questions about which was more scary, realistic and organic: the animatronic (shallow podium) or the hand articulated (deep podium).
